Located inside the Cijing District of Kaohsiung City, the 300-year-old Tienhou Temple designated as a Level Three National Historic Site, was the first temple on the Taiwan Island to devoted to Matsu, the Goddess of the Sea (historical documents may be produced to substantiate this fact), and one of the oldest temples in the Kaohsiung City area.
